Dr Francis Okeke was born and raised in the Eastern region of Nigeria. He attended medical school at the prestigious University of Nigeria Medical School Enugu. He emigrated to the United States to complete a master’s in public health (MPH) at the Wichita State University, Kansas. He completed a residency in Internal Medicine at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine (North General Hospital program in New York), and a fellowship in Gastroenterology at the Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell at Lenox Hill Hospital Program New York.

Dr Okeke has also completed a fellowship in Clinical Nutrition at New York-Presbyterian/Columbia University Medical Center in New York, and another fellowship in Neurogastroenterology/Motility at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore Maryland. He has held the ranks of Clinical Instructor of Medicine at New York-Presbyterian/Columbia University Medical Center and Assistant Professor of Medicine at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.

Dr Okeke prides himself on delivering patient-centered care, which fosters the physician-patient partnership in the effort to preserve health and correct pathology. He is board certified in Internal Medicine.

His professional memberships include the American College of Gastroenterology (ACG), American Gastroenterological Society (AGA), American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE), American Neurogastroenterology and Motility Society (ANMS).

Francis’ professional interests include but are not limited to general gastroenterology, Neurogastroenterology/motility disorders, colorectal cancer screening, clostridium difficile infection, small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO), and the gastrointestinal microbiome as it relates to disease states.

Brisa Blanco earned her master’s degree in Adult-Gerontology Acute Care from UTEP in 2024 and completed advanced training in gastroenterology. She works diligently to deliver comprehensive care — from initial evaluation and diagnosis through ongoing disease management and preventive health. She believes in empowering patients through education, shared decision-making, and individualized treatment plans. Whether managing a new diagnosis or optimizing long-term therapy, Mrs.Blanco is committed to helping every patient achieve the best possible digestive health.

Tabatha Renteria is an ambitious and patient-focused nursing professional with progressive clinical and academic achievements spanning LVN, RN, and Family Nurse Practitioner training. She graduated from El Paso Community College in 2015 (LVN) and 2017 (RN) and earned a Family Nurse Practitioner degree from The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) in 2025. She brings specialized gastroenterology experience through formal GI training and more than three years in a GI lab setting. Recognized for strong clinical judgment, procedural expertise, and commitment to evidence-based, compassionate patient care.
